Residential Counselors
JOB DESCRIPTION: This is an entry-level position. A strong desire to work with adolescents or therapeutic experience with adolescents is required.
TERM: Part-time
QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma and Associates Degree (50-60 undergraduate credits) (or) one year of experience and present enrollment in an undergraduate program.
• Must be 21 years of age with a valid driver’s license.

DUTIES: 1. Provide direct supervision of clients living in the residential programs, including supervision of meal preparation, housekeeping chores, group and life skills activities. Adhering to policies and procedures of same.

2. Understanding of clients individual service plan and assisting client in the attainment of the goals planned.

3. Maintenance of daily log of events at the end of the shift, to include hourly time entries, client summaries and Incident Reports as necessary.

4. Handle all incoming calls, 24 hours, in a courteous and professional manner.

YOUTH SERVICES AGENCY PROGRAMS
YSA has 3 large programs among a total of 14, in 3 states:

(1) Adventure Challenge Therapy (ACT) residential outdoor camps. (no longer called Camp Adams)

(2) Casework to youth at home- both intensive probation to youth in Bucks and Luzerne, and early intervention to informal JJS youth and high risk youth in schools.

(3) Alternative Ed. schools & programs,
some in our Adventure Learning Centers.

Other programs include:
(1) family counseling
(2) in home truancy and alternative suspension programs.
(3) group homes
(4) vocational projects including construction, Job Corps JJS residential as step-up for ACT
